As well as the quality of our products, customer service is also of the highest priority for us. Below you will find questions and answers that are most frequently asked by our customers.

Top 5 Questions

How long will it take for my artwork to arrive?

The estimated delivery time of each artwork is displayed under each product on the sales page. As a rule, the delivery time for works of art in stock within Germany is 1-3 days from receipt of payment. For other countries the shipping time is 3-5 days. The delivery of our large-format XXL paintings is carried out by our shipping partner and takes 3-5 days within Germany. As a seller we have no direct influence on the delivery time of our shipping service.

How can I return the artwork I ordered?

We allow you a 100 days return policy after receipt of your order. We have summarized the exact return procedure *here. Please send us an email with your order number to service@kunstloft.co.uk. We will then send you a return receipt so that you can return the work of art to us free of charge.
In the email with the return label you will find a link with which you can find your nearest DHL/DPD shop. We only offer a free pick-up service for our XXL oil paintings.
Ideally, you will have kept the original packaging for returning the work of art. If this is not the case, please ensure secure packaging. Unfortunately, we cannot send you a replacement box.
Should your painting or sculpture be damaged on its way to you, please send us an email with photos and your order number to service@kunstloft.co.uk. We will then find a solution to satisfy you.

How can I track my order?

You will receive an email with a link to your order tracking as soon as your order has been processed by the dispatch company. 

Will my artwork look exactly like the photos on the KunstLoft website?

XXL paintings:
With the XXL paintings you purchase the exact piece shown. If it should be out of stock, we will gladly have a similar painting painted for you. The delivery time is then approx. 12 weeks.

Acrylic paintings, wall decorations & sculptures:
Since the works of art at KunstLoft are all handmade, both the paintings and the sculptures always have small, but subtle differences - so each artwork is unique.

Thanks to our high-resolution photos from our very own photo studio, you can see every detail of each artwork before buying. We allow you a 100-day right of return if you are not satisfied with your work of art. 

Is it possible to order an artwork in another format?

Our artists always make the paintings and sculptures in small editions by hand and therefore no size or colour variations are possible. If you want a specific format, we also offer the possibility of ordering a *commission painting.

Where do the artworks and furnishings come from?

Our unique artworks are created by professionally trained, highly experienced artists in their workshops. Because we are in direct contact with them, KunstLoft ensures fair pay and suitable working conditions.

How are our artworks and interior objects made?
Can I choose a different size or colour combination?

Our artists always make the paintings and sculptures in small editions by hand and therefore no size or colour variations are possible. If you want a specific format, we also offer the possibility of ordering a commission painting.

Will my artwork look exactly like the photos on the KunstLoft website?

XXL paintings:
With the XXL paintings you purchase the exact piece shown. If it should be out of stock, we will gladly have a similar painting painted for you. The delivery time is then approx. 8 - 12 weeks.

Thanks to our high-resolution photos from our very own photo studio, you can see every detail of each artwork before buying. We allow you a 100-day right of return if you are not satisfied with your work of art.

By deciding against a machine-made art print and for an individually handmade or painting work of art, to some extent you have expressly opted for some deviations. In order to show you typical deviations, we have compared four example versions of each painting:

Are all your artworks really handmade?

Yes. All the paintings and sculptures offered by KunstLoft are painted or made by hand by our experienced, professional artists. You can see an example of the creation process of one of our acrylic paintings, 'Dance of Flamningos', here: 

Mounting methods for immediate display

Oil Paintings
Our large format XXL paintings can be hung up immediately as they are delivered with a serrated suspension to ensure a stable and secure attachment to the wall. We also supply a small spirit level for optimum alignment.  

Acrylic Paintings
You can hang most of our KunstLoft acrylic pictures immediately, because a picture wire is attached on the back. Furnishing professionals appreciate this fixing technique because, depending on the nature of the wall, only a nail or dowel with a screw is required for suspension. In some cases you will have to attach the supplied jag suspension to the picture yourself, which we will explain to you in a video. For optimal alignment, we also supply a small spirit level.

 

Metal Wall Decoration
On the back of your wall decoration metal there are eyelets for immediate hanging, which allow a vertical, horizontal or oblique mounting on the wall. 

Acrylic Glass Pictures, 3D Frame Art
These works of art can also be hung up immediately thanks to serrated hangers and holes on the back.

Painting Techniques

At KunstLoft, we use both oil and acrylic paints. We have detailed the advantanges and disadvantages of both techniques in an overview of the Differences between Acrylic and Oil Paintings.

Are the paints and materials used harmful?

We only use high-quality products for our artworks. We give our paintings a sufficient evaporation and drying time, and ensure the correct storage, so that all our colours and materials are harmless to health. You can find more information about the different colours on our overview page for acrylic and oil colours.

Our quality promise

We subject our valuable works of art to regular quality controls, because our high standards can only be met through direct contact with the artists. Our trust in the quality of our paintings, sculptures and carpets is so great that we guarantee a right of return of 100 days. What is the difference between oil and acrylic?

We have detailed the differences between oil and acrylic paints in an overview for you.

Is metal wall decoration suitable for outside use or not?

The metal wall decoration is suitable only for the interior area and not for the mounting in the outside area or in damp areas (like the bathroom or WC). Iron is used for the production, which means that the wall sculpture is not weatherproof. Please do not use damp cloths for maintenance, which would bring the material into contact with water. Instead, apply a protective oil layer.

Are the rugs only intended for indoor use?

Due to their high-quality natural materials, our handmade rugs and door mats are only suitable for indoors. 

How do you clean the rugs and home textiles?

Cushion and pouf covers can be taken off and washed. For cleaning woolen rugs, wool or woolen rug cleaner should be used with lukewarm water. Before cleaning, the rug should be thoroughly shaken out to remove any dirt.

Orders

Do I need an account to make an order?

No, you do not need an account to make an order. During the ordering process, you can choose whether you would like to set up an account or if you would rather skip this step. A free account does bring many benefits, though, which you can find out about under the heading 'My Account'. 

Order Process

Select the desired artwork on our website and klick 'Add to Basket'. On the right of the screen, an overview of the contents of your shopping basket will open. You have the option to either continue shopping, to remove a product or to 'Checkout'. If you click 'Checkout', you can decide in the next step whether you would like to order with or without an account. 

1. Without an Account:
Fill in the required fields without setting up an account. At the end, you can choose your payment method. Finally, you can check all your details and your ordered products once more. To finish, you order and pay, and within a short time will receive a confirmation of your order to your email address. 

 

2. With an Account:
Log in to your account. You will then see an overview with your address, the available payment methods and your ordered products. Check all of these details again before you order and pay. A few minutes afterwards you will receive an email with your order confirmation. 

Why do I have to supply my email address even when ordering without an account?

You will receive confirmation of both your order and of the dispatch by email, therefore we require your email address even when ordering without a customer account. If you would like to return the artwork, we will also send the return label to your email address. 

You have not received an order confirmation by email?

As soon as your order has been processed, you will receive an order confirmation by email. Please always check your junk and spam folders as well, as unfortuantely emails from online shops often land in this folder. 

Check your order status

Under 'My Account' you will find a tab 'My Orders'. Your order status can be seen here anytime. 

Cancelling an order

If you would like to cancel your order of an artwork, please send an email with your order number to service@kunstloft.co.uk. Your order can only be cancelled by us if it has not yet been processed by our logistics partner.

After processing you have two options:
- you decline to accept and the artwork will automatically be returned to us.
- You have a return label sent from us so that you canreturn your painting or sculpture free of charge. 

Ordering on the phone

You can order all our artworks by phone. Please note, due to data protection laws, in the case of orders over the phone we can only accept a pre-payment.

Order cannot be completed

In exceptional cirumstances, technical problems can occur with orders. First check the accuracy and completion of your details. Should the order still not be completed despite all details being correct, please contact our customer service

Advance Orders

How do I recognise an advance order?

Advance orders are identifiable through the dark orange text on the right of the product photo, which notifies you of the possibility of an advanced order. Here you can also see the planned delivery date. 

Payment methods for advanced orders

For technical reasons, we can only accept payment for advanced orders by: - prepayment

Why do I have to wait so long for an artwork ordered in advance?

All our artworks are made individually by hand, which naturally takes time. Because the paintings are hand-painted, they require extra time to dry which we must factor in, otherwise the texture of the colours could be damaged. As soon as the artworks are ready to send, they are delivered to us in Munich, where the advanced orders are immediately shipped. 

How accurate is the delivery date?

The expected delivery date that you seen alongside the artworks are based on our experience. Due to unvorseen circumstances, however, this date can be delayed. In such a case you will receiove an email from us with a notification of a delayed delivery date. You can cancel a purchase at any time, if you do not want to wait so long for your artwork. 

Cancelling an advanced order

You can cancel your advanced order any time and receive an immediate refund. Please contact our customer service. 

Advance order of a sold-out XXL painting

We will gladly have a sold-out XXL painting reproduced for you. As it concerns hand-painted motives, there may be minimal deviations from the picture which you see on our website. If you do not have any special requests concerning size, colour or motive, the price does not change. If you do have particular requests, please let us know by email and we will send you a quote. For both cases, please provide the following information in an email: billing and delivery addresses, including telephone number. Afterwards you will receive an order confirmation with out payment information. The total value must be paid in advance. As soon as our account has been credited, the artists will be assigned with the painting. Delivery time for repeat orders is approx. 12 weeks.

Product Inquiries

I cannot find a particular motive - what can I do?

We are always expanding KunstLoft. If you cannot find a particular motive, we would love for you to send us an email at feedback@kunstloft.co.uk.

Do the pictures come in alternative sizes?

Generally we only offer our artworks in the indicated size. A picture in another format would need to be made especially as an individual piece. In this case, whether it is in small or large format, the price bracket would be from £500.

Commission paintings

Let us know your desired motive, colour and size by filling out our practical commision art form. We will check whether these are possible and will send you an offer. Commission paintings start from approx. £700.

Individual requests for sculptures

Since our sculptures are made by hand in small editions, individual requests at the last minute are unfortunately not possible. However, if you would like to send us your requests, we can incorporate them into one of our pieces in the future.

Payment

Payment methods

You can pay for your KunstLoft artwork easily and securely by:

- debit card
- credit card
- PayPal

It is possible that not all payment methods given here will be shown to you. This decision is down to our payment service providers. 

When will I be charged?

If paying by credit card, the invoice amount will be debited immediately.
A payment by direct debit is usually debited 1-3 working days after the order has been placed if the billing address in within Germany, and within 5-7 days for orders outside Germany.
For all other payment methods offered by us, the debit takes place immediately after the order.
Further details can be found in our terms of payment.

Do I need to pay a toll or entry fee if I am ordering from an EU country?

No, your artwork will be send quickly and without complications from our KunstLoft branch in Munich. This is not liable for any tolls or entry fees.
Exceptions are deliveries to Switzerland, Norway or the Canary Islands - in this case, you are liable to pay the entry toll directly. 

Payment methods when ordering over the phone

In the case of orders over the phone, we can only accept advance payments, as we may not collect sensitive data from our customers.

Why am I not being offered all possible methods of payment?

Unfortunately we have no influence over which payment methods are offered to you online. This decision is made independently in real time by our external payment service providers, the online payment services from PayPal or AmazonPay.

Problems with immediate transfer

If you could not or did not want to complete the payment process with immediate transfer, we will gladly change the payment method for you to prepayment and send you our bank details. Please contact our customer service.

Display of VAT

For hand-painted art prints, sculptures, metal wall art and acrylic glass prints, the VAT is specified in the invoice. Our hand-painted oil and acrylic paintings, as well as multi-panel canvasses, are all subject to differential taxation as stated in § 25a of the UStG and therefore the VAT cannot be specified. 

PayPal purchase on account - have I already paid?

Since the payment method invoice is handled by PayPal, we unfortunately have no insight into the payment details. In our PayPal account, the invoice amount of your order is displayed as paid, because we have received the amount from PayPal and PayPal claims the amount from you.
If you have any problems during the payment process or if you are unsure whether you have already paid the invoice amount, please contact the PayPal invoice department directly: +49 0800 723 4730 (Mo-Fr, 8:00-17:00) from within Germany, or +49 69 945189832 from outside Germany.

Shipping and Delivery

Delivery duration

As a rule, the delivery duration for artworks within Germany is 1-3 working days from when you made your order. In other countries delivery time is 3-5 days. The dispatch of our large XXL paintings is done by our dispatch partners, which takes 5-7 days within Germany. You can find details of our delivery times in our Payment and Delivery section.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer express delivery. 

Free shipping

For shipping to Germany and many EU countries, you do not have to pay any fees. For shipping to Switzerland, Norway and the Canary Islands, however, additional fees apply. Find out more on our website under Payment and Delivery.

Do you deliver outside Germany?

Yes, KunstLoft ships to many EU countries. You can find out to which countries we currently deliver under Payment and Delivery.

Our delivery service providers

KunstLoft sends artworks with our logistics partners Parcelforce and DPD in special packaging to ensure safe transport. We send our large XXL paintings by dispatch. 

Customer collection

Unfortunately, it is not possible for you to collect your package yourself. We have designed an effecient and standardised delivery process in order to get your painting or sculpture to you as quickly as possible after the order is made. 

Packing

We love our paintings and sculptures and makes sure that they get to you well protected. We deliver our paintings and sculptures in their own, specially-made packaging. 

Tracking your order

In the dispatch confirmation email for your artwork, you will find a delivery and tracking number so that you can track your order. Enter this number on the website of our logistics partners Parcelforce or DPD in order to find out where your order currently is. If you have a free account with KunstLoft, you can track your order under 'My Orders'. 

Preferred delivery times

Unfortunately it is not possible to select a preferred time for your delivery, because our deliveries operate automatically. You can find out the delivery duration of your order here.
If you are not available at the due time, there are various options:
- delay making the order until a later time
- the package can be stored in a nearby package shop for 7 days and can be picked up, or
- you can specify another person to the shipping service who can receive the delivery for you. 

Delivery time for XXL paintings

Please provide us with your telephone number when you order. The dispatch company will then get in touch with you regarding times. 

Delivery to a packstation

Delivery to a packstation is not possible. Artworks from KunstLoft, including the packeging for transport, are too large to be delivered to a packstation. 

Why am I receiving multiple deliveries?

A partial delivery takes place in the following cases:
- You have ordered an XXL oil painting and one of the works of art from the small editions. The XXL-painting will be shipped by shipping company, all other works of art by DPD/Parcelforce.
- Parts of your order are currently out of stock. The available artworks will be shipped to you immediately, the pre-orders will be shipped as soon as they reach our warehouse.
We try to ship in as few partial deliveries as possible, but logistically it is sometimes not possible to combine parcels due to the size of the parcel. In these cases the artwork must be sent individually and in some cases via different shipping companies.
How your order is shipped can be seen from the tracking links in your shipping confirmation.

Gift wrap an artwork

Unfortunately this is not possible, as the packaging for transport cannot be combined with gift wrapping. However, you can buy and gift a KunstLoft gift voucher

Problems with shipping

Incomplete delivery
Please contact our customer service who will resolve the problem immediately.

Lost package
Please let our customer service know. They will contact the appropriate shipping service provider.

Returns, Exchanges & Refunds

100 days return policy

We grant our customers a 100-day return policy on all offered works of art and furnishings.
Please not that commissioned works and XXL oil paintings with shadow gap frames are exempt from this.

Returning an artwork

We grant you a return policy of 100 days after your order arrives. We have summarized the exact return procedure here. Please send us an email with your order number to service@kunstloft.co.uk. We will then send you a return receipt so that you can return the work of art to us free of charge.
In the email with the return label you will find a link with which you can find the Parcelforce/DPD shop nearest to you.

What do I need if I want to return my artwork?

In order to return an artwork, ideally you would have kept the original packaging. If this is not the case, please find an alternative, protective packaging. Unfortunately we cannot provide you with a replacement box. You will receive the return label from us. 

I received a damaged artwork.

If your painting or sculpture is damaged on its way to you, please send us an e-mail with your order number to service@kunstloft.co.uk. We will then send you a return label so that you can return the painting or sculpture to us free of charge. If further copies of the desired motif are in stock, we will of course send you a new work of art immediately.

I received the wrong artwork.

If you have received a wrong product from us, please send a photo of the wrong delivered product to service@kunstloft.co.uk. Our customer service will investigate your case and will immediately send you a return label by email so that you can return the package to us free of charge. If the artwork you ordered is in stock, we will ship it immediately to the delivery address you provided.

Refunds

We usually refund you for the invoice amount 7 business days after your return arrives. We will use the same payment method you originally used.

Automatic returns after unsuccessful deliveries

Please let our customer service team know whether we should send your packet to your again, and whether the address provided should remain the same. 

Is it possible to get a replacement delivered?

In the case of a damaged artwork, it is possible to have a replacement delivered. First, please send photos of the damaged product to service@kunstloft.co.uk, so that we can you look into your case and a possible replacement delivery. 

Can I have my artwork picked up if I want to return it?

We can only offer you a pickup service for XXL paintings. For this we will put you in touch with our dispatcher, who will pick up the painting from you. You can return all other artworks to us in your nearest DPD packetshop. 

Can I return an artwork myself?

No, unfortunately, for insurance reasons that is not possible. If you would like to return your painting or sculpture to us, we will send you a return label so you can hand it in to your nearest DPD or Parcelforce shop. 

Why does my artwork not look exactly like on the website?

Since KunstLoft artworks are all made by hand, the paintings and sculptures also have small but subtle differences - this way, every artwork has an individual aspect and is a truly unique piece. Discrepencies are in a sense expressly desired, as by choosing KunstLoft you have decided against machine-made art prints and massproduction, and have instead opted for an individual, handmade or -painted artwork. 

Exceptions to the Return Policy

Artworks which are created according to the customer's specific requests are exempt from the cancellation and return policy. That includes the following products:
- commission paintings
- paintings with a shadow gap frame
- special finishing

Gift Vouchers & Discounts

Gift Vouchers

Our gift vouchers are available in the value of £50, £100, £150 and £200, and are valid for three years from the order date. You can also combine numerous vouchers: for this, please call us on +49 089 5484 7737 or email our customer service team at service@kunstloft.co.uk.

Discount Vouchers

Unfortunately, numerous discount vouchers cannot be combined. There is however the option to combine a discount voucher and a giftt voucher.

We will keep you up-to-date on current discounted offers in our newsletter. 

Can I use a gift voucher on marketplaces?

No, our gift and discount vouchers can only be redeemed in our online shop, not over Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Otto marketplaces. 

What happens with returns?

If you return an order which was paid for with a gift voucher, we will refund you. However, if you paid for the order with a discount voucher, the voucher is no longer valid. 

Conditions

Gift vouchers
A cash payment is not possible. The vouchers are valid for 3 years from the date of issue and must be redeemed in a single order.

Discounts
Discount codes can apply to only one specific event, period or category. In such cases we will explicitly inform you on our website.

Where can I find the gift voucher section?

The gift voucher section appears on the KunstLoft website during the order process in the 'Check and Order' stage.

My Account

Benefits of a customer account

With your free account, you can check the status of your order anytime (as well as order tracking.) You can also edit your billing and delivery addresses, and save your wishlist for later. 

Signing up

In order to open an account with KunstLoft, you will need to provide your name, email address as well as your postal address. Your details are safe with us. We guarantee that we will never give or sell your details to third parties. 

My wishlist

In your wishlist, you can save an artwork, and then easily find it again upon your next visit. 

I've forgotten my password

If you have forgotten your account password, select 'Forgot your password? under 'Account' and request a new one. We will send you a new, randomly generated password, which you can change after logging in. 

Change password

When you log in with your details under 'Account', you will see the 'User Information' section, which gives you the option to change your password. You will be asked for both your old and new password.

Change email address

Under 'Account', you can change your email address in the 'User Information' section. You will need to enter your current password and new email address. 

Change postal address

Under 'Account', you can edit your delivery and billing addresses in the 'Adresses' section. 

Delete account

If you would like to delete your KunstLoft account, please send an email to service@kunstloft.co.uk. After deleting your account, we are unable to retrieve it. You will then have to sign up again.

Can I view the artworks from KunstLoft on-site?

Unfortunately this is not possible. In order to be able to offer our decorations and handmade paintings at affordable prices, we have made a conscious decision to avoid an expensive exhibition room. Intsead, we want to make high-quality art available on our website for everyone around the clock. 

What makes KunstLoft different from other online shops for handmade paintings, sculptures and decorations?

KunstLoft works directly with artist workshops and painters, and never with anonymous, expensive vendors. We lovingly choose the designs of our artworks, orientate outselves around modern trends, and ensure the high quality of our paintings, sculptures and rugs ourselves. On top of this, we gove every artwork on our website the meticulous presentation that it deserves.

Order directly from the catalogue
In the PDF file you can click directly on the artwork and you will be redirected to the corresponding product page on KunstLoft. There you can add the painting or sculpture to your shopping cart.

Print version
At the moment you can only download the catalogue online as a PDF file. As soon as the catalogue is available as a print version, you will find it on our website.

Frequency & Content
The

Does KunstLoft use my customer data for advertising purposes?
The protection of your data is very important to us. We will never use your data for advertising purposes without your explicit consent. Furthermore, we do not sell your data to third parties.

Are my customer and payment details safe at KunstLoft?
Yes, the protection of your data is our top priority. We protect your data consistently and process the payment according to the latest security standards. In addition, your credit card and account details are not stored on our servers.

Services

Trial hanging

Please hold the camera as still as possible, as your selected artwork will only be thrown against the wall in a resting position.
- Depending on the security settings on your device, you will have to confirm a security prompt and allow access to the camera each time you try out a hanging.
- If no corresponding picture for the trial hanging is stored for your desired work of art, you will automatically be redirected back to the article page.
- If you receive this error message, the operating system of your mobile phone does not yet support camera access for WebView. Unfortunately, this does not allow you to use the trial hanging.

Tutorial videos
