Will Hsiao had a secret talent for a long time. Friends finally found out that the artist from the city of Fuzhou likes to swing his brush in his free time and convinced him to work for a wider audience. He painted all the animal pictures in his daughter's room himself.

Why did you become an artist?

„In a way, for the fun of it. I have always been a hobby draughtsman and especially enjoy working on landscapes. As a passionate hiker, I always find something inspiring in the flora and fauna around my hometown of Fuzhou. If people like my pictures, I'm very happy.”

What are you working on right now?

„At the moment I am still busy with bird pictures. In the future, however, I plan to add another dimension to my paintings and not only realistically depict the various habitats, but also to take on the perspective of their inhabitants. What does the world look like for an eagle, or for a edible crab? I am also thinking of expanding my underwater series even further. There are many interesting creatures in the sea. A lantern fish would be great.”

If you weren't an artist, what would you have become?

„I did my apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer, but painting is much more fun and I would like to give it more time. ”
