Why did you become an artist?
„Already as a teenager I felt that I needed an outlet for my exuberant creativity. Sometimes I didn't even know what to do with all the ideas in my head. The profession of the artist allows me to put even the craziest thoughts on paper - because artists still have the aura of the "detached". Every time I hold the metal in my hands and start working on a new artwork, I know that I have found my calling.”
What are you working on right now?
„At the moment I am working on a new model series of metallic wall sculptures whose motifs I would like to pick up on themes that occupy me in everyday life. The creative process is something very personal and I like to be inspired by my surroundings. I haven't yet put any ideas into concrete form, but the numerous sketches are just waiting to be worked out in detail.”
If you weren't an artist, what would you have become?
„I would have opened a small hotel where I welcome visitors from all over the world to Thailand. Looking for new ideas for my wall sculptures I encounter new and unknown things every day. As a resident of one of the most popular travel destinations, you quickly learn that this can also be found in foreign cultures and ways of life. I find the exchange with people of other nationalities fascinating and that would have been an alternative to my purpose in life.”
