Your abstract paintings go into detail. What is your incentive to paint like this?

„I am fascinated by creating a modified perspective on reality by zooming in on the object I am currently painting. So, the stamp of a lily flower’s calyx will quickly become a fire landscape and fine marble inclusions turn into a fight between fire and ice. - Nothing is as it seems.”

And the art reflects this?

„Exactly. The motif changes and turns into something completely new in the imagination of the artist and in the interpretation of the viewer. That alone is already exciting. Especially impressive for me though is showing this phenomenon to someone through a painting and also experiencing how that evolves.”

What are you working on at the moment?

„At the moment I am experimenting mainly with colours. Every nuance alters the motif and gives the painting a completely new meaning. I could continuously devote myself to the research and study of harmonising colours, because a motif stands and falls with the right colour choice.”
