What makes a painting something special?
„Details are important. When taking a close look at a painting one should be always be able to detect new subtleties. All my paintings have a soul. Seeing as I mostly choose motifs like trees or landscapes, the paintings exude a certain peace. People who purchase my works appreciate that very much.”
Why did you become an artist?
„Painting has always been a hobby of mine. As a child I was able to sit for hours on end and busy myself with it. At some point in high school a teacher noticed me and got into contact with a well known author, who I was then allowed to illustrate a few books for. I also received orders from some smaller magazines. To be able to earn money long term, I then studied art. After my studies I went back to painting and left illustrating behind. Today I can live quite well off my art.”
Which KunstLoft painting is your favourite?
„The painting I am most proud of is ‘Morning dew in the birch forest’. I managed to capture the very special mood, that one can experience on early mornings in cold, humid air in the forest, quite well. Simply mysterious.”
