Aurelia Yin

Aurelia Yin manages to celebrate the naturalness with her figurative flower and animal motifs. The paint application, that is characterised through fine brushstrokes, gives the chosen motifs of flora and fauna an inexpressible tenderness. The pronounced colouring supplies the natural representation of the paintings with a valuable content, which unfolds its effect above all on an emotional level. The elaboration of fine details attests to the enormous ability of the artist to perceive her environment.

Aurelia Yin: If I see a gorgeous detail somewhere, I then want to capture it in my painting.

What are you working on at the moment?

At the moment I am painting a lot of animal motifs. As an inspiration, I do actually visit the zoo and observe the animals their characteristic peculiarities and movements. I am very close to reality in my paintings and sometimes only add a romantic, personal touch to them.

How do you get inspired?

Everything around me can be an inspiration. During my time as a teacher I was continuously surprised how uninhibited the children could approach painting. They also had a very good eye for details, that we adults lose a bit with time. That is why I often try to approach my paintings with a childlike, almost naive perspective.

Which KunstLoft painting is your favourite?

I admire Grace Liao’s motifs. “The Forest’s Greeting” is stunning. She does have a few animal motifs in her portfolio, but she captures them completely different. I could get lost in the deer’s look.
